This group exhibition takes the Western city as its critical framework, considering it as a site of patriarchal capitalism where power, control and violence are materially inscribed and spatially reproduced. It explores how urban space specifically scripts and sustains gendered power dynamics, and how artists across generations have worked to unsettle and reconfigure these structures, drawing on appropriation, desire and humour as modes of critique and subversion.
