In his eighth solo exhibition at Galerie Guido W. Baudach, Berlin-based artist Markus Selg presents new, digitally generated paintings and sculptures. Related to each other in terms of content, these works are embedded in a comprehensive spatial installation, which is nevertheless purely virtual and only becomes visible when using a specially developed app on a smartphone or tablet. Anyone who gets involved will experience an extended (exhibition) reality with otherwise unseen artworks in a completely transformed environment. The separation between inside and outside has disappeared. The physical and digital worlds merge.
Together they constitute the TWIN ZONE.

Markus Selg is a multimedia artist who creates exhibitions, theatre performances, operas and Virtual as well as Augmented Reality. He condenses image, sculpture, performance, music and film into spaces of immersive experience, creating new dynamics between archaic myths and digital technologies. Since 2015, he has been working closely with theater director Susanne Kennedy, with whom he will be staging THE WORK at the Berlin Volksbühne by the end of May; a retrospective in the form of a play that complements the exhibition in the gallery – and vice versa.
