Tan Mu
Exhibition walkthrough

Peres Projects is pleased to present DAWN, Tan Mu’s second solo exhibition at Peres Projects and first at the Berlin gallery.

In DAWN, the subjects of Tan Mu’s compositions cover an enormous range in scale – from the embryo, privacy stamp and logic circuit to the solar farm and the atomic bomb and earth itself. The artist cultivates a practice of image making that draws from rigorous research and observation. Her primary sources are both archival and cutting edge – the MIT review, NASA, and scientific journals. These paintings are hand painted translations of photographs, examining life through the lens of the history of humankind’s evolution and endeavours. Drawn to the subjects of science and technologies, the artist explores the cycles and pursuit of incremental improvement in the lives of humans.
