Meret Oppenheim

With her multifaceted work, Swiss-German artist Meret Oppenheim (1913 Berlin – 1985 Basel) was far ahead of her time. Across a range of media, she explored the depths of human nature, examining the cycle of becoming and passing away and the changing forces of nature. Throughout her life, she sought to overcome the gulf between male and female as well as the barriers between fine and applied art, drawing on her personal cosmology of transcending boundaries.

As a tribute to the artist to mark the occasion of the 40th anniversary of her passing, the exhibition focuses on the facets of her work.
