In this new sequence of works, Barker looks at how bodily needs are controlled and delineated. Fenced enclosures, houses, and toilets recur as motifs, all implying restricted movement in some way; letting things in and keeping things out. The figure appears too, as a container for a portion of chocolate. These works refer to private situations where the body tries and fails to contain itself; where its needs become unavoidable.
