A Naked-Eye Blue erzählt die Geschichte einer Mittelmeerinsel, die aus dem Meer auftauchte und wieder darin verschwand. Im Jahr 1831 ließ ein unterseeischer Vulkanausbruch eine Basaltformation zwischen Tunesien und Sizilien entstehen und löste einen heftigen Souveränitätskonflikt zwischen europäischen Mächten aus. Sechs Monate später verschwand die Insel erneut unter der Wasseroberfläche. Die Arbeit bewegt sich zwischen dem Historischen und dem Spekulativen und reflektiert über das aufklärerische Potenzial einer Insel, die sich einer Annexion entzog.
