Julije Knifer is recognized as one of the most prominent artists related to Concrete Art after 1945. His works are anchored in geometric abstractions and neo-constructivism of the “New Tendencies” from the 1960s. Riddled with his asceticism and interest in the absurd, Knifer’s works can be viewed both in the light of anti-art and the neo-avant-garde. The presentation here includes several of his early works on paper, paintings, and notebooks.
